Madeline's first Easter was all kinds of fun. As usual, we had several celebrations to attend, so it was a busy (but fun filled) day. We started the day with brunch at my parents' house, and then we went with my family to 11 AM mass, which we decided is the best time to go on Easter as church wasn't nearly as full as the earlier masses usually are. Here's a couple of family pictures...
After mass, we headed out to Tonganoxie to see Mat's family, which included an Easter egg hunt for our nephew Brody. Next year, he'll have some competition in the hunt for eggs with his cousin Maddie joining in, but this year, she just hung observed with dad and mom...
The Easter Bunny did bring her a basket full of goodies though, including this little yellow duck...
After a delicious meal, we spent some time out on the porch enjoying the beautiful day. Maddie figured out how to shake and make her rocking chair rock, so she had a lot of fun doing that (under the close supervision of Grandma Emma as we didn't want her to rock herself right out of the chair)...
She always crosses her ankles when she sits....SO adorable...
Maddie and her Aunt Sarah...
Playing with some Easter eggs (after cousin Brody took all the candy out of them)...
It was another wonderful day with our families. As an added bonus, there was even time for Mathew to do a little more morel mushroom hunting, and he had another successful trip by finding a bag of mushrooms. What a great Easter!
